With the FOV Extension for Fanatec CSL DD bases, we have addressed several key weak points of the wheelbase.
The first weak point is the carbon-infused plastic shaft, which is significantly weaker than a steel shaft. To counter this, we designed the extension with an additional structural casing and a bearing, reinforcing the shaft. This makes your wheelbase feel as solid as if it had a steel shaft.
The second weak point is the base connector system, originally designed to be rigid. Due to the elasticity and bending of the shaft, there is a risk of premature connector failure and disconnection issues. We solved this by introducing a flexible connection system, which protects both the base and quick-release connectors.
With our extension, in addition to achieving the perfect FOV, you are also prolonging the lifespan of your base by protecting two key components: the shaft and QR connectors. You will also experience an enhanced more rigid feel, comparable to higher-end bases with a steel shaft.
The extension comes with everything needed to extend the wheel shaft by 115mm, including wiring.
All wheel rim functionalities are fully retained.
No permanent modifications are made to the base, allowing you to easily revert it to its original state if needed.
The extension is compatible with QR1 and QR2 quick release.
An extension compatible with Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro is planned for the near future, as it is very similar to the CSL DD base.
